The Traple Konarski Podrecki & Wspólnicy Law Firm is one of the leading law firms on the Polish market. It was created from a law office set up in 1993 by Professor Elżbieta Traple, Ph.D., attorney at law, who was joined in 1999 by partner Xawery Konarski, attorney at law, and subsequently by partner Paweł Podrecki, Ph.D., attorney at law. In 2009 Beata Matusiewicz-Kulig, attorney at law and Tomasz Targosz, Ph.D., attorney at law joined the associate team, followed two years later by Jan Byrski, Ph.D., attorney at law and Wojciech Kulis, attorney at law.

The Firm is now made up of 44 lawyers, among them attorneys at law, legal advisors, doctors of law, a patent attorney, bar trainees, Ph.D. students and junior lawyers. The Firm’s employees have undergone a careful selection procedure, which takes account of their practical skills and theoretical knowledge of the law, fluency in foreign languages and vocational experience gained during apprenticeships and fellowships abroad.

The Firm specializes primarily in the following areas: intellectual property law, technologies, media and telecommunications, IT, competition law, advertising and promotion law, pharmaceutical law, corporate housekeeping, mergers and acquisitions, real estate and property development investments, financial institutions law and finance and public procurement. The Firm also represents clients in court litigation and in administrative proceedings. It is based in Cracow, but the lawyers also work from the local office in Warsaw. We provide legal services in Polish, English, French and German.

The Firm continually provides legal assistance to a wide range of Polish and foreign businesses and acts as a permanent expert for numerous artistic and business organisations, for instance the Polish Filmmakers’ Association, the Polish Chamber for IT and Telecommunications, the Polish Chamber of Insurance, the Polish Trade and Distribution Organisation and the Union of Employers in the Internet Sector IAB Polska.

On the legal services market the Firm has established a reputation for meeting the most sophisticated demands and expectations of its clients. This has been repeatedly confirmed by the top positions in law firm rankings. Each year between 2005 and 2009 the Firm was named the second top legal service provider and in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 the leader in the “intellectual and industrial property and copyright law” category in a national ranking compiled by the Rzeczpospolita daily, while in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 it came second in the “technology, media and telecommunications” category. Forbes magazine listed our Firm as a leader in the “intellectual property law” (2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011 – number one position, 2008 – the runner-up) and the “media and telecommunications” (2008, 2009 – the runner-up, 2010 - third position, 2011 – number one spot) categories.     Attorney at law. Conducts research at the Chair of Civil Law at the Jagiellonian University. Specializes in civil law and intellectual property law, an author of numerous publications, including: “Komentarz do Ustawy o prawie autorskim i prawach pokrewnych” [Copyright and Related Rights. A Commentary] (co-author), “System prawa prywatnego - prawo autorskie” [Private Law System - Copyright] (co-author), author of a monograph “Umowy o eksploatację utworów w prawie polskim” [Contracts for the Exploitation of Works in Poland’s Law] as well as being the editor and co-author of a collective study “Prawo reklamy i promocji” [Advertising and Promotion Law].
